‘Iran and the Duqu spyware’
Brigadier General Gholamreza Jalali,
the director of Iran’s Passive Defense Organization
Iran has developed a software program that can “control” the newly discovered Duqu spyware, the director of Iran’s Passive Defense Organization has announced.

“The software, capable of controlling this virus (Duqu), has been provided to organizations and institutions,” IRNA quoted Brigadier General Gholamreza Jalali as saying on Sunday.

Duqu, discovered on September 1, 2011, is a sophisticated Trojan which acts as a backdoor into a system and facilitates the theft of private intelligence.

Security software manufacturer Symantec says parts of the Duqu code base are nearly identical to the infamous Stuxnet worm, “but with a completely different purpose.”

The Duqu malware has reportedly infected a number of systems in Iran.

“All of the centers and apparatuses suspected of being infected with the virus are under control,” Jalali said, adding that countering and cleansing processes have been carried out at the infected institutions.

Stuxnet, first indentified by Iranian officials in June 2010, is a malware designed to infect computers using supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems made by the German company Siemens — which are favored by industries that manage water supplies, oilrigs, and power plants.

In July, media reports claimed that Stuxnet had targeted industrial computers around the globe, with Iran being the main target of the attack. The reports said Iran’s newly launched Bushehr nuclear power plant was at the center of the cyber attack.

However, Iranian experts detected the worm in time, averting any damage to the country’s industrial sites and resources.

“The (Iranian) cyber defense base is working round the clock to adopt the necessary measures to counter cyber attacks and the infiltration of spyware,” Jalili stated.

Iran wants to jointly produce nuclear fuel for Bushehr plant with Russia. The chief of Iran’s nuclear program, Ali Akbar Salehi, have disclosed that Iran has “made a proposal to Russia to create a consortium with Russia to do part of the work in Russia and part in Iran.”

Russia is responsible of providing the Bushehr reactor with nuclear fuel for a period of 10 years as well as of collecting the fuel rods in order to make sure they will not be used for military purposes. Iran is of course also interested in acquiring the technology for the production of fuel rods which only three countries currently possess – USA, Russia and France.

Iran show an armament similar to the one of Nazi-Germany in 1933-1939: Submarines, bomber-drones, missiles, attack-speedboats and beside that large scale uranium-production (Iranians call it their ‘arms development’ program). The rhetoric of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the president of Iran, is not less aggressive and anti-Semitic, than the rethoric of Adolf Hitler.

The Persian Gulf.

Iran said on Monday it has launched mass production of two high-speed missile-launching assault boats, the Seraj and the Zolfaqar to be deployed along its coastline and around the key Strait of Hormuz shipping route.

Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi opened the assembly lines, saying the vessels would help strengthen Iran‘s defense forces.

Zolfaqar is a new generation missile-launching vessel which can be used for patrol as well as for attack operations, designed for quick assaults on ships and is equipped with two missile launchers, two machine guns and a computer system to control the missiles.

Seraj is a fast moving assault rocket launcher using sophisticated and modern technology, designed for the Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. It can fire rockets and also be used in stormy seas.

Iran has been pushing an arms development program in recent years in a bid to reach self-sufficiency. Tehran launched its arms development program during the 1980-88 Iraqi imposed war on Iran, to compensate for a US weapons embargo. Since 1992, Iran has produced its own jet fighters and armored vehicles as well as radar-avoiding missiles and other high-tech weapons.

The United Arab Emirates – the UAE – is just as worried about Iran as Israel is. From the Atlantis Hotel in Dubai, you can see the three islands of Abu Moussa (A), Greater Tunbs (B)  and Lesser Tunbs (C), which currently are under Iranian control. But the UAE states that these Persian Gulf islands belong to them. Just across the water, the Iranian threat is an existential threat to the UAE’s very nice world order where oil is an ATM machine. They do not sleep at night. This has nothing to do with Israel. If Iran start to make or aquire atomic bombs so will Egypt, so will Kuwait, so will Saudi Arabia. And the UAE will have no problem with their chequebook to do the same.In fact, they hope that the United States and Israel and others will get together to take care of that threat.

Bushehr reactor.

Busherh day #1

On Saturday 21.8.2010, a first truckload of fuel was taken from a storage site to a fuel “pool” inside the reactor building. Over the next two weeks, 163 fuel assemblies — equal to 80 tons of uranium fuel — will be moved inside the building and then into the reactor core.

Bushehr reactor as it looked  Saturday evening.

The Bushehr plant overlooks the Persian Gulf and is visible from several miles (kilometers) away with its cream-colored dome dominating the green landscape. Soldiers maintain a 24-hour watch on roads leading up to the plant, manning anti-aircraft guns and supported by numerous radar stations.

Bushehr reactor fueled.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in connection with the start up of the Bushehr plant:

“If attacked by Israel, Iran would strike back. Our possibilities would be limitless and would encompass the entire planet. Israel would like to destroy the plant, but would not dare, because it realized that Iran “is a fortress that cannot be destroyed. And besides, I don’t believe their American masters would let them attack.”

“We are currently producing fuel for our nuclear plants… We have one facility in Natanz and another one is being built near Qom. I have already said that we should at least have 50,000 centrifuges to provide the fuel for one power plant,” Ahmadinejad said [IRINN, 9 November 2009].

“Despite all pressure, sanctions and hardships imposed by Western nations, we are now witnessing the startup of the largest symbol of Iran‘s peaceful nuclear activities. Iran is designing a reactor to produce radio isotopes which will be more powerful than the Tehran reactor and this reactor will be commissioned soon in the country, Our plan is to commission several reactors in the north, south, east and the west of the country so that we can produce radio isotopes for sale and export to the regional and Islamic countries that need them,” Iran’s nuclear chief, Ali Akbar Salehi, told reporters inside the plant. “I thank the Russian government and nation, which cooperated with the great Iranian nation and registered their name in Islamic Iran’s golden history,” Salehi said. “Today is a historic day and will be remembered in history.”

Ali Akbar Salehi and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Iran‘s continued refusal to satisfy the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) and international community that its work on uranium enrichment and heavy water projects are exclusively peaceful is unacceptable to Israel. Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Yossi Levy said: “It is totally unacceptable that a country that so blatantly violates resolutions of the (United Nations) Security Council, decisions of the International Atomic Energy Agency and its commitments under the NPT (non-proliferation treaty) should enjoy the fruits of using nuclear energy. The international community should increase pressure on to force Iran to abide by international decisions and cease its enrichment activities and its construction of reactors.

Chairman of the Iranian parliament.

In a session of parliament on Wednesday, the chairman of the Iranian parliament Ali Larijani (a protegé of Ahmadinejad) called on Iran‘s government to push ahead with its programme to enrich uranium to 20 percent. “The bullying countries must understand that their illogical pressure will be proportionately reciprocated by the level of our uranium enrichment which would depend on our needs,” he said in the parliament amid chants of “Allahu Akbar” (God is great).
Larijani also dismissed the new sanctions and warned the
United States and other countries that if they searched Iranian ships and planes — as the new UN measures specify — Tehran would reciprocate accordingly in the Gulf waters. “This retaliation is part of defending our national interests,” he said as lawmakers shouted “Death to America!” and “Death to Israel!“.

Around 40 percent of world oil supplies pass through the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. The UN sanctions authorise states to conduct high-sea inspections of vessels believed to be ferrying banned items to or from Iran. They also provide for cargo inspections, both in any port or at sea, if there is reason to suspect a ship is carrying conventional arms or nuclear missile items for Iran.

Iranian nuclear map.

Gary Samore, President Obama’s top adviser on nuclear issues, think that the Iranians have roughly a year to convert the fuel to weapons-grade uranium. U.S. and Israel would be able to detect within weeks of when this process began, leaving a considerable amount of time for the United States and Israel to consider military strikes.

Iran opens atomic plant 21.8.2010

Russia’s nuclear agency said today (13.8.2010)  that it will load fuel into Iran’s first nuclear power plant next week, moving ahead with launching the facility despite Iran’s stubborn defiance of international demand to halt uranium enrichment.

Uranium fuel shipped by Russia will be loaded into the Bushehr reactor on Aug. 21, beginning the startup process. Russia signed a $1 billion contract in 1995 for building the Bushehr plant.  the Bushehr project have been closely supervised by the U.N. nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Russian officials said that Iran had signed a pledge to ship all the spent uranium fuel from Bushehr back to Russia for reprocessing, excluding a possibility that any of it could used to make nuclear weapons.

The United States has called for Russia to delay the startup until Iran proves that it’s not developing nuclear weapons.

Former President Hashemi Rafsanjani’s website.

.

Iran Dispatch picks up onan interesting entryon former President Hashemi Rafsanjani’s website:

Is this talking about the impeachment of President Ahmadinejad?

“Diversion of the president was clear, but still it were people who paid the price. the constitution had solution for the diversion of the president: Dismissal.”

This is the top lineof the latest update on Hashemi Rafsanjiani’s official site.

Iran Dispatch.

Despite appearances, these words do not refer to Ahmadinejad. They are a part of Hashemi’s memoir, published “randomly” on his site, referring to Abolhassan Banisadr, the first President of Iran who was dismissed by the Parliament and fled the country to escape possible trial.

But publication of such posts are not as random as it has been claimed. It could be a cuecard to his followers. A sort of code word. Hashemi, as a circumspect politician, has used this technique to announce his ideas about the issues when expressing them directly and publicly might put his positions —as the head of the Assembly of Experts and chairman of Expediency Discernment Council — in danger.

About a year ago during the tension between Hashemi and Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader was at its highest, Hashemi published a part of his memoir about his role in introducing and appointing Khamenei as the successor of Ayatollah Khomeini. Many interpreted it as a pretentious display of power and political rank.

Now it seems that Hashemi, politically known as Ahmadinejad’s enemy, is putting a solution to Iran’s crisis in front of Khamenei: “Dismiss Ahmadinejad to save the country.”

The persecution of Bahai’s

Canadian Foreign Minister Lawrence Cannon said, “Canada is deeply disturbed by reports that these individuals have now been sentenced to 20-year prison terms on charges of espionage, acting against national security and being enemies of God, and that these sentences were passed without either written judgments or due process.

The French government is “distressed to learn of yesterday’s sentencing of seven Baha’i leaders to 20 years in prison without parole by a court in Tehran.” The statement further called on the Iranian government to ” release these seven Baha’i leaders immediately” and “to halt the persecution against Baha’is and religious minorities in Iran and to respect the freedom of religion and conscience as defined in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, which Iran freely signed.”

Ahmadinejad repeats Holocaust-denial

and allow publication of anti-semitic web-site.

On Saturday, Ahmadinejad repeated his belief that the Holocaust had been invented to justify the creation of Israel.

“They made up an event, the so-called Holocaust which was later laid as the basis for the innocence of a group,” he said.

Once Golamhossein Elham, the Government’s former spokesperson  said Ahmadinejad has “invented” a “unique language” which is “simple” and “meant to be punchy”. Iranian opposition politician, Mehdi Karroubi have called the language of Ahmadinejad “insult to thousands of years of Iran civilization.”

The Farsi-nazis

Iran has launched a new website challenging the historicity of the Holocaust.

According to a report by Iran’s Fars News Agency 5.8.2010 (published only in Farsi), a non-governmental cultural institution calling itself the “Bulwark of Faith and Thought” has just launched e web-site called Holocartoons.com, featuring a set of anti-Jewish caricatures already published in book form by the Iranian artist Maziar B. in 2008.

This Zionist is writing the “Holocaust story”

with his long Jewish nose.

The site, is presented in Farsi, Arabic, and English, accompanied by Henry Mancini’s “Pink Panther” theme. A note at the beginning claims that Holocartoons is “dedicated to all those who have been killed under the pretext of the Holocaust.” It goes on to claim that “the killing of 6 million Jews in the Second World War known as the Holocaust was a sheer lie.”

It depicts Hitler as a joke, gas chambers as a farce, and claims there were never more than 5.4 million Jews living in Europe in the first place. The murder of the Jews, it explains, was merely an invention of the Zionists to seize control of the Middle East and its resources.

Hitler by Holocartoons.

The new Farsi-nazi website, like an Iranian ‘Der Stürmer’ (the infameous nazi propaganda magazine), supports President “Adolf” Ahmadinejad’s version of the German Dolchstoßlegendepretending that the zionists are the cause of the suffering of the Palestianians (not the Arab rulers and the shifting terror-groups of Fedayeens, Fatah, Hisbollah, Hamas) and his policy of delegitimizing the Jewish state by challenging one of its key justifications: providing a safe homeland for threatened Jews.

As Ahmadinejad stated in a speech in 2009: “the issue of holocaust is an excuse by the war winners, particularly the US and Britain, for domination over the world. … After the war a political and power-seeking system which claimed to be defendants of some war victims said the survivors of these victims need to receive a blood-money and establishment of Zionist regime in Palestine is a part of the compensation. … If the reality of holocaust issue becomes clear, the Zionist regime will be fully collapsed.” (SOURCE)

Some Jews argue that we should not take such a web-site serious – in exactly the same way that some German Jews argued in the 1930’ies that Hitler was ridiculous and that he should not be considered a threat. We need not state who was ridiculous then.

Iran have now collected uranium for 2 bombs

The International Atomic Energy Agency, in its latest tally in June, said Iran was now running nearly 4,000 uranium-enriching centrifuges and had amassed nearly 2.5 tons of low-enriched uranium that can be used for fuel. That’s also enough for two nuclear bombs, if enriched to weapons-grade levels.

IRAN have got 4 surface-2-air-missiles

Iran has obtained four S-300 surface-to-air missiles a semi-official Iranian news agency claimed Wednesday.
Russia was originally supposed to sell Teheran S-300 missiles but canceled the deal as a result of UN sanctions passed against the Islamic Republic for refusing to cease its uranium enrichment program. The West fears Iran will use the enriched uranium to create nuclear weapons, while Teheran insists the program is for peaceful purposes.
The Fars news agency, which has ties to Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guard, Iran’s most powerful military force, said Iran received two missiles from Belarus and two others from another unspecified source. Fars did not elaborate, and there was no immediate official confirmation of the report.

Iran’s Fars News Agency said the Israeli military aircraft landed 10 days ago at the Saudi base near the city of Tabuk, located in northwest Saudi Arabia, one of the closest areas to Iran.

Tabuk in Saudi Arabia.

Fars expect that the Tabuk base will be the central station for an Israeli attack on Iran. It quoted an Islamic news site that a commercial airline passenger said the airport in Tabuk was closed to all other traffic during the alleged Israeli landings. The passenger said that “no reasonable explanation” was given for shutting down the airport and those passengers were compensated financially and booked in four-star hotels.  The chief authority in Tabuk, Prince Fahd ben Sultan, was reported be coordinating the cooperation with Israel.

Iran’s government-funded Press TV reported that the Revolutionary Guards began closely patrolling the Islamic Republic’s northwestern border after noticing the American forces, which Iran claim also included Israeli troops. Azerbaijan’s independent Trend news site also reported on Wednesday that American armed forces are in the country of Azerbaijan, which is in an armed conflict with rebels.

Revolutionary Guards Brigadier General Mehdi Moini said Tuesday that his forces are mobilized “due to the presence of American and Israeli forces on the western border.” The Guards reportedly have called in tanks and anti-aircraft units to the area in what amounts to a war alert. Earlier on Wednesday, it was reported that Iran has enriched another 17 kilos of uranium to the 20% level. Sakineh.

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has called on Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to allow Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, the woman sentenced in Iran to death by stoning, an asylum in Brazil:

“I call on the supreme leader of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, to permitBrazil to grant asylum to this woman”.

5.8 & 9.9.2010

Ashtiani’s lawyer, Houtan Javid Kian, has said 9.9.2010 that there has been no change in her case and the stoning sentence was suspended but not officially cancelled. He has said Ashtiani was never formally put on trial on the charge of being an accomplice to murder and was not allowed to mount a defence.

Sakine Ashtiani.

A letter from her son, published by KOPJIK INTERNATIONAL on 10.7.2010:

To Mrs. Ahadi, her colleagues, and all of those in the USA, Germany and other countries who have endeavored to help those convicted on political grounds: Accept my greetings and gratitude.

I who write this letter, Sajjad Ghader-zade, 22 years old, want to first of all tell you about my mother and the way she was convicted.

My mother, Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, was arrested in the city of Oskoo on charges of adultery. She was prosecuted in the Oskoo criminal court. My mother and Mr. Naser and Mr. Ali Nojumiha were each sentenced to 99 lashes there, and the sentences were fully served at the executive office on everyone convicted in this case. Then as to why the case was sent to Branch VI of Eastern Azerbaijan retribution court in Tabriz for review, I have no idea. Here my mother’s case was reviewed by five judges, after which Mr. Imani, the head of Branch VI, and two of his colleagues, based on their own wisdom sentenced my mother to death by stoning, while two others found my mother innocent of the charges and stated this verdict clearly. Mr. Mostafaei (Sakineh’s lawyer) says there are a lot of uncertainties and doubts in this case.

Mr. Mostafaei refers to two judges in the panel who clearly stated that there was neither evidence nor legal grounds whatsoever in the file to sentence Mrs. Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, and the existing indications and evidence could not provide basis for any assumptions by the panel, and one accused should not stand trial twice on the same charge. The case was then sent to the Supreme Court, which unfortunately upheld the sentence. This was a summary of the case but I want to point out other uncertainties regarding the case.

We have traveled more than six times to Tehran to visit Mr. Larijani, Khamenei, and Ahmadi-Nezhad, and written more than a hundred times to them but have not received any response, so I have no option but to reach out to them this way. I want to ask the country’s authorities a few questions and hope they hear me.

First of all, Mr. Larijani, why has an accused been twice prosecuted on the same charge while, even according to the Islamic criminal law, a convict should be prosecuted for a crime once and not more than once?

Second, Mr. Larijani, you are the head of the country’s judiciary. How come the country’s judges do not take your orders seriously? Mr. Shahrudi had, in an amendment, ordered the country’s judges to ban stoning sentences, yet contrary to this order, judges still issue stoning sentences. Why, in our case for instance, did Mr. Imani, despite lack of evidence and proof, issue a stoning sentence for my mother? If he is motivated by his wisdom, I must ask what the basis for that wisdom is. If he is demonstrating his wisdom, was Mr. Imani present when my mother committed the crime against which he issues a verdict with such decisiveness?

Third, when Mr. Mostafaei, via Mehr media outlet, interviewed Mr. Yusefi, the general director of Oskoo’s provincial justice department, the latter claimed that there was no sentence served in this case in Oskoo’s jurisdiction, but I was present when this was done. I ask the head of justice department why a judge like Yusefi, who himself issued a sentence, denies the execution of his own verdict?

These are the three questions that should be answered. But I, as an Iranian citizen who has not succeeded to get an audience with your office, to you, the head of the judiciary, who through the TV networks day in and out announces that justice must prevail and the officials guilty of misconduct will be punished, say that there is no justice in this country, and your justice is only as just as the misconduct of judges of the country who are not corrected by you. I ask you: has justice been served in my mother’s case? Can you answer to these three questions?

I ask you to send the letter of my mother’s pardon to Tabriz and return my mother’s life back to her. I hope that you see to it that justice in my mother’s case prevails, for thanks to your judges’ wisdom, my mother is in a bad psychological state, and in five years has been imprisoned without a day of permission [editor’s note – a day of leave from the prison].

I have now said all that should have been said. My mother and I are asking the people of the world to help us, and are deeply grateful for what has been done thus far.

Many thanks,

Sajjad Ghader-Zadeh

Sakineh Mohammadie Ashtiani kan når som helst modtage den straf, som iranske myndigheder har idømt hende. .

*

Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani may at any time receive the punishment that Iranian authorities have sentenced.

The verdict is ready. Sakineh can be stoned at any moment. The 42-year-old mother of two should be stoned for

having been unfaithful and of having been involved in the murder of her husband in 2005. Stoning implies that

Sakineh will be buried up to her chest. Subsequently there will be stones thrown at her.

The stones are large enough to hurt, but small enough that Sakineh will not immediately be killed –

but just at the end of the process.

*

The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs have strongly warned Iran against stoning of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, the mother of 2 children. The Norwegian Foreign Ministry also warned Iran against carrying out executions in two other cases.

Iran scientist fled from CIA?

Shahram Amiri, a university researcher working for the Atomic Energy Organization in Iran, disappeared during a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia one year ago and Iran have accused Saudi Arabia of handing him over to the United States, which Saudi Arabia has denied.

In March 2010, ABC news said Shahram Amiri had defected to the United States and was helping the CIA.

Primo June 2010 Iranian television showed a video of a man it said was Shahram Amiri. In the video, Amiri said he had been kidnapped, taken to the United States and tortured.

About a week later a second video appeared on the Internet, showing Shahram Amiri, in which he said he was actually studying in the United States.

In a second (or third ?) video ultimo June 2010, the man described as Shahram Amiri said he had fled from U.S. “agents” and was in hiding. He rejected the Internet video as “a sheer lie,” and urged human rights groups to help him return to Iran.

The man in all the videos looked similar to photographs of Shahram Amiri that have appeared previously Iranian media. A CIA spokeswoman have declined to comment on Shahram Amiri. Iran originally refused to acknowledge Shahram Amiri’s involvement in the nuclear program.

Supporters of the French-based National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) filled a makeshift stadium just north of Paris to denounce Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and demand more pressure be brought to bear on Tehran. Some 1,000 buses had ferried its supporters to the rally, adding that “many tens of thousands” had shown up.

A former US ambassador to the United Nations, John Bolton, and former Spanish Prime Ministers Jose Maria Aznar, joined more than 100 lawmakers from across Europe, the Middle East and North America to voice their opposition to Ahmadinejad.

Former Spanish Prime Ministers Jose Maria Aznar.

An Iranian exile group, NCRI, backed by international politicians, said on Saturday that much stiffer sanctions would have to be imposed on Tehran if world powers hoped to curtail Iran’s nuclear program. “The international community lost a very important opportunity a year ago when they did not give strong support to the freedom fighters in the Iranian streets, And now we continue to approve sanctions that I consider are not enough. I don’t think sanctions will prevent this regime from obtaining nuclear weapons,”  Aznar said, referring to protests that followed Ahmadinejad’s 2009 election, when  half a million people in Tehran poured into the streets to protest the suppressive religious regime.

NCRI.

The NCRI has followers across Europe and the United States and was the first group to expose Iran’s covert nuclear program in 2002. It claims to have huge backing within Iran although analysts say its support is very hard to gauge.

Maryam Rajavi.

NCRI leader Maryam Rajavi told the rally that to change ideas in Tehran, the world had to get rid of the current rulers. “From our point of view, the new Security Council resolution and complementary sanctions by the US and Europe are necessary, but insufficient … We demand that you stop the purchase of oil and gas from this regime right now, The Iranian people, of course, demand far more than this. They demand that this regime must go,” she said.

Iranians reiterated that the West’s policy must mature to support regime change by the Iranian people and Resistance and so long as the Iranian factor has not been included in the international community’s political equation, the clerical regime will not take seriously the world’s will to confront its attempts to generate crises and obtain nuclear weapons.”

Declaration of support by 3500 parliamentarians from Iranian resistance and rights of CampAshraf residents

NCRI – Iranians and their international supporters called on the world community to support democratic change in Iran by the Iranian people and the Iranian Resistance. They welcomed the imposition of more international sanctions against the clerical regime but stressed that the Western policy towards the regime in Tehran will not be effective unless it underlines the imperative for democratic change by the Iranian people and their Resistance.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, was the keynote speaker at the event. Hundreds of international personalities, including Amb. John Bolton, former US Undersecretary of State and former Permanent US Representative to the United Nations, two former prime ministers, José Maria Aznar of Spain, and Sid Ahmed Ghozali of Algeria, joined more than 100 lawmakers from across Europe, the Middle East and Canada in partaking in the event.

Iranians at the gathering also voiced support for Camp Ashraf residents, where some 3,400 members of the opposition, People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), reside in Iraq. As the US forces prepare to withdraw from Iraq, the participants warned the US government about the safety of the residents and the serious threats they would face in the event that the US government fails to uphold its obligations and to guarantee their protection.

Mrs. Rajavi’s Keynote Address

In her speech, Mrs. Rajavi reiterated her solution to the Iran crisis. While reminding that the regime has lost the potential for conciliation by virtue of the Iranian people’s uprising and resistance, she said the fourth round of UN Security Council sanctions does not leave much room for the policy of appeasement.

Mrs. Rajavi added, “For years, you engaged in futile negotiations with this regime. You bought time for it to complete its nuclear installations. You helped those affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards to assume power in Iraq. You included the PMOI on the list of terrorist organizations and betrayed the Iranian people’s resistance. You provided the regime with the windfall gains of such a policy. Ultimately, however, you reached a dead end.”

“We say that now this road has come to its end. You saw for yourselves that this decadent regime lacks the slightest flexibility or openness. So, it is incumbent upon you to reverse the wrong course you had taken.”

Mrs. Rajavi, added, “From our point of view, the new Security Council resolution and complementary sanctions by the US and Europe are necessary, but insufficient. Nevertheless, we insist that you do not hesitate in implementing these provisions.”

“The Iranian people, of course, demand far more than this; they demand that this regime must go,” Mrs. Rajavi said.

The President-elect of the Iranian Resistance also said, “We call on all governments to urge the United Nations to mandate its forces to directly assume the responsibility for the protection of Ashraf. We warn that as far as the Iranian people and Resistance are concerned, in addition to the Iraqi government, the US government and the United Nations would be responsible for any attack and bloodshed in Ashraf.”

Outlining the demands of the Iranian people and Resistance, Mrs. Rajavi said, “We demand that you stop the purchase of oil and gas from this regime right now,” adding, “We demand that [the mullahs’ Supreme Leader, Ali] Khamenei, [the mullahs’ President, Mahmoud] Ahmadinejad and other regime leaders be tried by an international tribunal for genocide, namely the massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in 1988.”

“We also demand that all restrictions that have been imposed on the Iranian Resistance in Europe and the United States be lifted.”

“The time has now come for the US State Department to remove the terrorist label against the PMOI.”

“It is incumbent upon you to acknowledge the right of the Iranian people and Resistance in demanding regime change, recognize the National Council of Resistance of Iran and shun this regime, its representatives, spokesmen, advocates and operatives.”

Iranians’ Demand

Iranians attending the gathering voiced full support for the uprising in Iran for democratic change. They stressed that while the imposition of sanctions against the clerical regime is a necessary step, in view of the intensification of suppression by the mullahs inside Iran and their attempts to obtain a nuclear weapon, it is no way sufficient.

International Support

The support of more than 3,500 members of parliament from Europe and North America for the Iranian Resistance and its proposed solution was also unveiled at the event.

Signatories of the declarations included the majorities of 23 parliaments, including 18 in Europe, such as France, Britain, and Italy. Majorities of the Canadian Parliament and the US Congress were also among the signatories. Hundreds of parliaments from various Arab nations, including the majority of members in the Jordanian parliament, 100 Egyptian and dozens of Palestinian lawmakers, joined 3,500 of their western colleagues in supporting Ashraf and the Iranian Resistance.

Features of the Gathering

A demographically diverse group of Iranians from all over Europe, the US, Canada and Australia took part in the gathering, holding large purple-colored flags and wearing T-shirts and hats of the same color.

The location of the event spanned about three soccer fields in size and was turned into a stadium specifically for the gathering. A section was dedicated to a memorial site honoring hundreds of Resistance activists and protestors in Iran who have lost their lives.

On both sides of the large podium, the original texts of declarations of majority support from various parliaments backing the Iranian Resistance’s solution were hung, featuring the respective countries’ flags.

20% purity

Iran has enriched 17 kg of uranium to 20 percent purity, a top official said on Wednesday, underscoring Tehran’s determination to push ahead with its nuclear program despite new international sanctions. Iran’s enrichment activities are at the heart of its standoff with the West which fears it is seeking nuclear weapons capability. Two weeks ago, the United Nations Security Council agreed to impose a fourth round of sanctions on Iran. Iran started refining uranium to 20 percent purity — up from around 5 percent — in February, saying it aimed to make fuel for a medical research reactor. The move — a significant step towards making weapons-grade uranium, which is 90 percent enriched — has alarmed the West. Iran says its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes and primarily aimed at electricity generation. “We have already produced 17 kg of 20 percent enriched uranium, and we have the ability to produce 5 kg each month but we do not rush,” Ali Akbar Salehi, head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, was quoted as saying by the ISNA news agency. “We do not want to produce anything which we do not need and we don’t want to convert all our uranium reserves to 20 percent enriched uranium, so we produce 20 percent of enriched uranium according to our needs.” Salehi told Reuters in February that the Tehran medical reactor required around 1.5 kg of fuel per month. By early April Iran had produced 5.7 kg, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency, the UN nuclear watchdog.

Mark Fitzpatrick, senior fellow for non-proliferation at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London told Reuters that around 200 kg of 20 percent enriched uranium, if further enriched, would be required to make a nuclear bomb. Iran had hoped to avoid the latest sanctions by offering to send some of its low enriched uranium (LEU) abroad in return for higher grade fuel — enriched elsewhere — for the Tehran reactor, which makes isotopes for treating cancer. That offer, brokered in May by Turkey and Brazil, revived a deal struck with major powers in October, but Western diplomats said the fuel swap was no longer meaningful as Iran had increased its LEU stockpile considerably in the meantime. Saheli said the test phase of third generation centrifuges — unveiled by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at a ceremony in April — was nearly completed and that work on a fourth generation was under way.

The centrifuges Iran uses now to enrich uranium are adapted from a 1970s design and have been prone to breakdowns. Western analysts say Iran has exaggerated progress in the past to bolster domestic pride about its nuclear program and to improve its bargaining position with major powers.

Ahmadinejad shrugs off UN sanctions

Visiting China Iranian President Ahmadinejad, speaking during a visit to the World Expo in Shanghai, called the UN Security Council a “tool of dictatorship” members to “monopolise” nuclear energy and said new UN sanctions over Tehran’s nuclear programme “will have no effect.”

It is not democratic, it is a tool of dictatorship,” the Iranian president told reporters.
He called the UN resolution adopted earlier this week a “worthless paper” and said it would “have no effect” on Iran.

Ahmadinejad: “The current possessors of nuclear weapons are unwilling to let other countries even have peaceful nuclear energy. And they accuse others of possibly starting to make nuclear weapons while developing nuclear energy,” he said. “Some of them possess destructive nuclear weapons and have already used nuclear weapons against other nations.”

Ahmadinejad: “Those who believe they can continue their hegemony through intimidation are making a big mistake. t The period of intimidation and coercion is over.”

Known nuclear installations in Iran.

Iran’s nuclear chief have said that Iran will begin construction of a new uranium enrichment plant in March 2011. Iran’s government has approved plans for 10 new enrichment facilities that can process uranium gas into fuel for nuclear power plants. Iran’s expansion of the technology because it can also be used to make material for nuclear warheads. Iran denies such an aim.

S-300-SA-10-missiles.

Moscow will freeze a delivery of surface-to-air missiles to Iran. Russia has a contract to sell S-300 missiles to Iran and there was confusion whether the deal could go ahead under the terms of a fourth round of United Nations sanctions introduced earlier this week to penalize Iran over its nuclear program. However the delivery will be frozen.

The S-300PMU [SA-10 land-based, SA-N-6 naval version] surface-to-air missile system is able to engage a number of targets simultaneously, countering intensive aircraft raids at low-to-high altitude. The SA-10’s are fit for multi-target shooting, low altitude targets with small radar cross-sections such as cruise missiles, tactical ballistic missiles, and possibly with a potential to intercept some types of strategic ballistic missiles.

S-300 missiles.

.

But reports on deliveries of S-300 systems are probably untrue. Russia’s state-run arms exporter, Rosoboronexport, have said earlier that Russia is only selling defensive weapons (including surface-to-air systems) to Iran, in strict compliance with the international non-proliferation regime.
An Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman said that Israel had received assurances from Russia that it had not started S-300 deliveries to Tehran. Iran is said to be “very unhappy” about it and want to impose penalties on Moscow for breaking the contract.

Iranian dissident kidnapped

An Iranian dissident who went missing for almost two weeks in Germany has told The Associated Press he was kidnapped by four Arabic-speaking man who threatened to kill him for a film he made that is critical of the Iranian regime.

In his first interview since his ordeal, Daryush Shokof said he thought the kidnapping was orchestrated by the regime in Tehran even though his captors didn’t speak in Farsi, which is spoken in Iran.

“I am convinced that there is a connection between my kidnapping and the Iranian regime,” Shokof said in a phone interview from Cologne, where he under police protection. “This was the act of this horrendous regime.”

Shokof, a 55-year-old Berlin resident, said Thursday that one of his captors accused him of blasphemy.

“‘You have insulted Islam, you have insulted the regime, we’re going to kill you, you have to stop the release of your film,’ — that’s what he said to me,” Shokof said. He described the man as about 40 years old and speaking English with a heavy Arabic accent.

He said he told his kidnapper he was not trying to hurt Islam, but criticizing only the Iranian government.

“I told him what happens in Iran has nothing to do with Islam,” he said.

Shokof disappeared May 24 in Cologne, the day he planned to board a train to Paris to promote his new film “Iran Zendan,” or “Iran Prison.” The small independent movie is highly critical of the Iranian regime and shows scenes of torture and rape in an Iranian prison. It was shown once last month to a closed audience of friends at a Berlin theater and then posted on YouTube, but has since been removed.

On June 5, almost two weeks after he went missing, Shokof was found by a group of teenagers — drenched, exhausted and confused — near the Rhine river in Cologne, and taken to a hospital, police said.

For example, my brother-in-law is Catholic, and my sister converted and my nephews are baptized. I have an uncle who just graduated and currently he’s a priest. He’s going to be transferred from Ohio to New York shortly, so I can’t wait to see him and my cousins… I even have two cousins here in New York City who are Jewish. Brazil’s Lula

willing to talk

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said 21.5.2010 that Iran is willing to negotiate its nuclear program. “Iran, which had been sold to the world as the devil … sat down at the negotiating table. I want to see the others comply with what they wanted Iran to do,” Lula said during a speech to mayors in the capital, Brasilia.

Iran is threatening: Iran would cancel the accord with Turkey and Brazil if the UN Security Council approved a fourth round of sanctions against it, a member of Iran’s parliament said. But US officials regard that deal with Turkey and Brasil as a delaying tactic by Iran. And the major powers, including China and Russia, presented the UN Security Council with a scheme to impose tougher sanctions on Iran.

13.5.2010

The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has 13.5.2010 warned the United States and other Western nations on Thursday against imposing unilateral sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program.

The European Union has said it may impose unilateral sanctions if a UN Security Council resolution fails and US President Barack Obama’s administration has been lobbying Western companies not to do business with Iran, but has not imposed sanctions against them.

Countries facing Security Council sanctions “cannot under any circumstances be the subject of one-sided sanctions imposed by one or other government bypassing the Security Council”, Lavrov said.

Russia is in talks with the United States and other UN Security Council members on a fourth round of sanctions. Moscow has indicated it could support broader sanctions but has stressed they must not harm the Iranian people. Washington has made it clear that USA wants tougher measures than veto-wielding Security Council member Russia is likely to accept.

Permanent Security Council member China has joined Russia in opposing Washington’s plans to impose tough, wide-ranging sanctions on the Islamic Republic over its refusal to suspend sensitive uranium enrichment activity and open up fully to UN nuclear inspections.

Chutzpeh

>> … is one of the Yiddish language’s greatest contributions to civilization. The quintessential example is when a defendant, having just murdered his parents in cold-blood, throws himself on the mercy of the Court because he’s a double orphan!

In our time no one does chutzpah better than Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and nowhere does he do it better than at the United Nations. Last year, serial human rights abuser, “Wipe Israel from the Map” Ahmadinejad keynoted the UN Human Rights Council’s Durban II Conference in Geneva. At another appearance at the General Assembly in New York, he flirted with Holocaust Denial and boasted about Tehran’s 9,000 nuclear centrifuges, making fissionable material in contravention of International Atomic Energy Commission (IAEC) rules and UN Security Council resolutions.

Iran ‘accepts Brazil

mediation on

nuclear fuel deal’

“In a telephone conversation with his Venezuelan counterpart, [President Mahmoud] Ahmadinejad agreed in principle to Brazil’s mediation over the nuclear fuel deal,” the semi-official news agency Fars reported.

The deal was proposed by the US, Russia, China, UK, France and Germany.

Under it Iran would be required to ship 1,200 kg (2,646 lb) of low-enriched uranium to Russia and France, where it would be converted into fuel to be used to make isotopes for cancer treatment.

Scepticism

In January, diplomats said Iran had told the UN’s nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency, that it did not accept the terms of the deal and had instead demanded a simultaneous exchange on its territory.

But suggestions in recent months by Mr Ahmadinejad that he might be willing to re-enter talks on the deal have been met with scepticism among Western countries.

Brazil’s foreign minister is reported to have said during a visit to Tehran last week that his country would be interested in playing a role in settling the dispute over Iran’s nuclear programme.

But it is not clear whether a formal proposal has been made.

Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has said he opposes sanctions against Iran.

Also on Wednesday, the Iranian president told ABC News Iran would “definitely continue” its nuclear program despite the potential threat of Israeli military action.

He also brushed aside the current US push for a fresh round of sanctions.

“This is not something that by threatening Iran or putting pressure on Iran will force Iran to change its positions,” he told the US news channel.

He is currently in the US attending a conference on the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty (NPT).

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Monday that Iran’s nuclear ambitions were putting the world at risk.

Mr Ahmadinejad had earlier accused states with nuclear weapons of threatening those who wanted to develop peaceful nuclear technology.

His comments prompted delegates from the US, the UK and France to walk out.

‘Disappoint God’

Young Iranians sometimes push the boundaries of how they can dress, showing hair under their headscarves or wearing tight fitting clothes.

Mr Sedighi also referred to violence following last year’s elections, which occurred when thousands of – mostly young – Iranians protested against the result, as a “political earthquake”.

“Now if a natural earthquake hits Tehran, no one will be able to confront such a calamity but God’s power, only God’s power. So lets not disappoint God.”

Iran threatens whole world

Israel’s president warns that Iran is a danger – not just Israel – but to the entire civilized world.

Peres said Iran threatens to annihilate Israel, alluding to its nuclear program. He said the threat shouldn’t be underestimated and that Israel’s enemies shouldn’t underestimate Israels capabilities.

Peres added that a threat to “the peace of the Jewish people always carries the danger of turning into a threat to the civilized world as a whole.”

President Shimon Peres was speaking at the opening ceremony of Israel’s annual memorial day for soldiers and civilians killed in Israel’s wars and terror attacks.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad 18.4.2010 extolled Iran’s military might during an annual army parade, saying the country is so powerful today that no one would dare attack it.

The parade in Tehran showcased Iran’s surface-to-surface Ghadr, Sajjil and Shahab-3 missiles, which have a range of up to 1,250 miles (2,000 kilometers) that puts Israel and U.S. bases in the region within Iran’s reach.

The Shahab-3 missile is capable of carrying a nuclear warhead. Although Tehran doesn’t have one, this has been a source for Western concerns along with Iran’s controversial uranium enrichment program, which the international community fears masks ambitions for an atomic bomb.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said 18.4.2010 that Israel, the “main instigator of conflict” in the Middle East, was on its way to collapse and that regional powers wanted it uprooted. In a speech marking annual Army Day, the president also reiterated his view that the presence of foreign forces is causing conflict in the region.

“The Zionist regime is on its way to collapse,” Ahmadinejad, known for his strong anti-Israel rhetoric, said in an address delivered near the shrine of Imam Khomeini,Iran’s revolutionary leader. “This is the will of the regional nations that after 60 odd years, the root of this corrupt microbe and the main reason for insecurity in the regionbe pulled out.” Ahmadinejad, who previously has angered Israel and Western countries for asserting that the Holocaust is a “myth”, said that the “murderous” Jewish state was behind turmoil in the region. “This regime is the main instigator of sedition and conflict in the region,” the hardliner, flanked by Iran’s top military brass, said from the podium. “I want its supporters and creators to stop backing it and allow the regional nations and the Palestinians to settle things with them,” he said without elaborating.

What is going to happen

when Iran get the bomb?

Iran’s road race towards nuclear weapons has been slowed down by several factors: technical bottlenecks, the exposure of secret facilities and equipment breakdowns (sometimes because of mistakes – sometimes baked into the equipment by Western intelligence services). But progress towards making the bomb have not been stopped – not by sanctions, not by negotiations and not by domestic unrest. Army Gen. David H. Petraeus have told a Senate committee that it will not be in this calendar year that the world will face a nuclear-capable Iran. But most experts now estimate that Iran only needs about 18 months to complete a nuclear device and a missile to carry it. The American military, which do not like to add a third war to the two it already wages. Their argument is that a military attack would not prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, it will only postpone it. But what will happen then in 18 months when Iran have got the bomb?

“I don’t think the Iranians, even if they got the bomb, are going to drop it immediately on some neighbour. They fully understand what might follow. They are radicals, but not total ‘meshugeneh’,” Ehud Barak said in a speech last month.

Editors note:

If the Iranian leadership isn’t totally meshuggeh, what then are they?

Denying that the holocaust have happened is an indication that

they might not be far from being totally meshuggeh – or worse!

“… In principle!”

Iran – a Fascist country

Opposition groups have declared Iran’s leadership

politically bankrupt after alleged vote-rigging and violence.

But the Iranian fascist regime consider itself solely

answerable to God.

A traditional Islamic ‘sharia-concept’ about protecting Islam and

its followers has become a judicial weapon for

Iran’s fascist rulers: charging democratic opponents as

enemies of God

with the threat of possible death sentences.

The fascist clerical Iranian regime is now using ‘moharebeh’ as

a weapon against political protesters. A 20-year-old student,

Mohammad Amin Valian, have recently (among a dozen other

people) been convicted of ‘moharebehh crimes’, which Iran’s

penal code defines as “defiance of God” (or the state) –

and punishable by hanging.

Valian’s only crime is that he have throw stones at security

forces during the anti-government protests in December 2009.

Using ‘moharebehh’ to preserve the regime is a total

corruption of the ‘moharebehh’ concept.

In January, Iran hanged two men on ‘moharebehh’ offenses.

Thousands more are kept in detention and have yet to face

the courts, which are directly controlled by the ruling fascist

Iranian theocracy.

Editors note:

*muharebeh’ (literally “waging war” in Arabic) traditionally

refer to acts such as killing civilians or poisoning water wells,

crimes “so serious and repugnant” that their perpetrators were

denied “sanctuary anywhere” in the Islamic societies.

The typical fascist re-definition of the concept of ‘moharebehh

crimes’ by the Iranian fascist regime is nothing but a classical

abuse of power.

Iran face further sanctions

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev declared at the start of a state visit to France that his country is ready to consider new sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program. “It would be desirable that any sanctions should not harm the Iranian population”. France have been growing increasingly impatient about Tehran’s alleged defiance of U.N. rules aimed to stop the spread of nuclear weapons.

Iran soccer official resigns over New Year’s greeting to Israel.

A senior official in the Iranian Football Federation (FFI) was urged to resign on Saturday after a New Year’s greeting email was apparently sent on his behalf to his counterparts in Israel, the Iranian Fars news agency reported.

Then of course in a fascist dictatorship state –

not only the balls … but also heads most roll !

Mohammad-Manour Azimzadeh, the head of the FFI foreign relations’ office, resigned after a mass New Year’s greeting email sent by the FFI reportedly ended up with the football federation of Israel, Iran’s arch-foe.

Mohammad-Manour Azimzadeh

The FFI said in a statement that the emails are sent every year worldwide to all member federations of the world football governing body FIFA, “except the football federation of the Zionist regime” which has been deleted by the FFI from the mailing list.

The statement however said that a FIFA employee – apparently an Israeli of Iranian descent had forwarded the Iranian greeting message to the Israeli federation as well.
Iran does not acknowledge the sovereignty of Israel and even Iranian athletes are in no way allowed to compete against Israeli teams in international tournaments, including at the Olympics.Mohammad Ali Ardebili, director of foreign relations for the Football Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, told Army Radio last week that he had not intended to send the message to the Israel Football Association.”It is a greeting sent to every country in the world,” Ardebili said. He quickly then inquired: “Are you talking from Israel? I can’t speak with you. It’s a mistake, it’s a mistake.”

The greeting was received in Israel by the head of the Israel Football Association’s legal department, Amir Navon.

“He came into my office asking me if I thought it was a mistake,” said body spokesman Gil Levanoni. “So I told him that I didn’t know, but that we should send in a reply.”

Levanoni and Navon said they replied to the greeting with a “happy new year to all the good people of Iran,” and said: “We also added a wink.”

“We wrote them that we hoped that they would have a happy soccer year,” Levanoni added.”
